We decided to give BIF a shot with the vintage 1200mm f/11 Canon lens. It adapted to the Z9 with an inexpensive adapter and the @explorerphotovideo tripod held up perfectly under the 20lb package. Follow focus is about impossible, and infinity on this lens is about 1100', so f/16 and rack it out to infinity wasn't the solution. Atmospheric haze on a warm South Carolina morning didn't make it any easier. Still, a fun challenge. This big old black lab (friendly, sort of goofy, lots of fun) a lens is a kick to shoot with. Throw it in your bag next to Portra and ColorPlus. FPP Dracula ISO 64, high resolution with super fine grain that is great for landscape work. Washi Z is an aerial film repurposed for 35mm. NEWLY ADDED: A sweet wannabe mirrorless camera dressed up like a DSLR. Nikon's D780 is sort of overlooked by a lot of people. We were expecting a big update from the Well-loved D750 and (outwardly) it was kind of a 🎺wah-wah 🎺 moment when it was introduced. But - it's got the heart of a mirrorless camera with great live view, face detection, and video functionality most DSLRs can't touch. It's like mirrorless if you shoot live view and a DSLR if you shoot through the viewfinder. I've really enjoyed mine from Day 1 but it's time to go all-in with Nikon Z. We cleaned the lens and viewfinder glass, tested it for light leaks and accuracy and gave it a tasty new butterscotch leather coat. 10.5cm lens is a nice length for portraits but having interchangeable lenses means you can build a great vintage 6x6 system easily and affordably. We barely got to know you and now you're gone

The Mamiyaflex C was the foundation of what was the greatest familyof TLR cameras ever made. Bringing this one back to life was a fun project. The C (1956) became the C2 then C3, followed by the C33, C22, C220 and finally the C330 series. Unique to the family was a robust system of interchangeable lenses, finders, screens and grips. Over its nearly 40-year production life the Mamiya TLR family benefitted from continuous improvement and was a favorite among wedding photographers for decades. It's been tested and includes a standard 8cm lens and a 13.5cm telephoto/portrait lens.

I don't often get to shoot just for fun and I've been feeling a little out of sorts lately about that. Plans to attend another event today fell through so on the spur of the moment I decided to check out the Warbirds airshow. First airshow I've ever shot and it was definitely a challenge. Keeping track of lighting direction, getting that prop blur just right, panning smoothly....good times. It was the fun, challenging, out-of-the-norm challenge we all need now and then to sharpen the skills. T

There's something tactile and "real" about a print that a file or IG post can never convey. (yes, the irony) We recently worked on a print project that demanded something different.
